The 2.6.2 CE Smart App Update introduced Siri Shortcuts. To use the Siri Shortcuts function, you must have an iOS device with iOS version 12.0 or above.

Integration with Siri Shortcuts introduced the ability to use Siri to Voice Control your desired device function(s) by creating a scene that includes and executes those desired device function(s). Once the scene is set up in the CE Smart App and you tap “add to siri” and set up a phrase for use with Siri Shortcuts, you can then use the shortcut phrase to voice control your Smart Home with Siri. Once a phrase is set, anytime it is said to Siri, the scene’s device functions will be executed.

If you’d like to control the operation of only one device, you can do so by creating a Smart Scene with that device. There is no limit to how many Scenes you can add in the app. If you’d like to be able to turn on/off your device with Siri voice control, you will create 2 scenes with these separate functions. One with Switch: On, and another with Switch: Off.

The operation for using Siri Shortcuts to control an individual Smart Device’s function is as follows:

  1. Within the CE Smart App, click “Smart” and ensure “Scene” is bolded/selected along the top panel.
  2. Next, tap “+” in the upper right corner.
  3. Tap “+” next to “Carry out the following actions”
  4. Click your device you wish to enable voice control with Siri via creating a Siri Shortcut.
  5. Select Switch: ON

  6. Click edit name to create a name for your scene, such as Kitchen Lamp ON.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Now, create the OFF scene for that device. Click “+” in the upper right corner.
  9. Tap “+” next to “Carry out the following actions”
  10. Click the same device to set up the ‘Switch: Off’ Scene for use with Siri Voice Control.
  11. Select Switch: OFF.
  12. Click edit name to create a name for your device-off scene, such as Kitchen Lamp OFF.
  13. Click Save.
  14. Once desired scenes are created, in the “Smart” tab section under “Scenes,” tap the “add to siri” button on the lower right of the screen. (Only available on iOS 12.0 or above).
    1. After tapping the “add to siri” button, a page is displayed with all Scenes you’ve created; the “add to siri” button is displayed next to any Scene that has not yet been set up for Voice Control with Siri Shortcuts.
  15. Tap the device’s “ON” scene (titled: kitchen lamp ON), then tap the microphone button to record a personalize phrase, such as “Kitchen Lamp On.”
    1. When this phrase “Kitchen Lamp On” is said to Siri, Siri will run this Shortcut and execute the Scene, thus turning ON the kitchen lamp.
  16. Go back to the “Smart” tab section under “Scenes” and tap the “add to siri” button again. This time, on the next page, you will select the OFF scene (titled: Kitchen lamp OFF).
  17. Tap the microphone button to record a phrase, such as “Kitchen Lamp Off.”
    1. When this phrase “Kitchen Lamp Off” is said to Siri, Siri will run this Shortcut and execute the Scene, thus turning OFF the kitchen lamp.

Example: “Hey Siri, Kitchen Lamp On” command will turn ON the Smart Plug controlling the Kitchen Lamp, thus turning ON the kitchen lamp.
