There are two configuration methods, EZ Mode and AP Mode.
Default configuration method is EZ Mode. If EZ Mode connection fails, please try connecting in AP mode.
Prior to connecting devices, ensure you've downloaded CE Smart, have registered for an account and are signed in.
Next, ensure your phone/tablet being used to connect the Smart devices is connected to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
• CE Smart Home Devices are not compatible with 5GHz bands.
If you have a dual band router:
• If you have both a 2.4GHz band and a 5GHz band in one SSID (network name), separate the bands or connect via AP mode for stable connection.
• If you have both a 2.4GHz band and a 5GHz band with separate SSIDs (network names) and initial connection fails, please ensure you are connected to the 2.4GHz band only. If still having trouble, please attempt connection in AP mode.
EZ Mode/Smart Configuration Steps:
When connecting in EZ Mode, the LED indicator on the Smart Stake (located on the top of the stake below the plastic shield) should be quickly flashing (2-3x per second).
• Check your phone/tablet settings to make sure that you are connected to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. If you are not sure your router's output signal strength, contact your internet provider to confirm.
• First, ensure you've flipped the power switch ON (located on the side of the stake below the outlets). It will glow red when ON.
• Then, follow the below steps to initialize the quick flashing LED indicator:
- Press the Wi-Fi control button (located on the top of the stake below the plastic shield) once to turn Stake on (Red LED).
- Press again to turn off.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi control button for 8-10 seconds, and release once blue LED indicator begins quickly flashing.
- If the Red LED light comes back on steady upon release, press and release the Wi-Fi Control Button once more to get the blue LED quickly flashing again.
• While the blue LED indicator is quickly flashing, open the CE Smart App, tap "+" or "add device", select "outlets/plugs."
• Check to ensure the blue LED indicator is still rapidly flashing. Tap to confirm this in the app.
• Enter the password for your 2.4GHz network (case sensitive). Confirm to begin configuration. While connecting, it is normal for the blue light to stop flashing around 10-30%.
• When connection is established, the Blue LED will turn solid; the app will then quickly load to 100% to complete connection.
• If connection fails, try connecting in AP Mode (steps below)
AP MODE Steps:
When connecting in AP Mode, the LED indicator on the Smart Stake (located on the top of the stake below the plastic shield) should be slowly flashing (2-3x per second).
• Check your phone/tablet settings to make sure that you are connected to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. If you are not sure your router's output signal strength, contact your internet provider to confirm.
• First, ensure you've flipped the power switch ON (located on the side of the stake below the outlets). It will glow red when ON.
• Then, complete the steps below to get the Stake's LED indicator quickly flashing:
- Press the Wi-Fi control button (located on the top of the stake below the plastic shield) once to turn Stake on (Red LED).
- Press again to turn off.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi control button for 8-10 seconds, and release once blue LED indicator begins quickly flashing.
- If the Red LED light comes back on steady upon release, press and release the Wi-Fi control button once more, and the blue LED will begin quickly flashing again.
• Once the LED is quickly flashing (2x per second), press and hold the Wi-Fi control button for another 8-10 seconds, and release once the blue LED indicator begin slowly flashing (1x every 3 seconds).
- If the Red LED comes back on steady upon release, press and release the Wi-Fi control button once more, and the Blue Light will begin slowly flashing again.
• While the blue LED indicator is slowly flashing, open the CE Smart App, tap "+" or "add device" and select "outlets/plugs."
• In the top right corner select 'AP Mode' or 'Other Mode' then 'AP Mode.'
• Check to ensure the blue LED indicator is still slowly flashing and tap to confirm in the app.
• Enter your 2.4Ghz WiFi password (case sensitive) and confirm.
• A pop-up message will appear; click "go to connect" / "connect now." You will be brought to your settings, open Wi-Fi networks and search for "SmartLife-xxxx" and select.
• Once connected to the SmartLife-xxxx Wi-Fi, wait about 5 seconds then go back to the CE Smart App; connection will automatically begin.
• While connecting, it is normal for the blue LED to stop flashing around 10-30%.
• When a connection is established, the Blue LED will turn solid; the app will then quickly load to 100% to complete connection.
